Here are some tracks that I recorded with my band Kanga’s House. We wrote, recorded and performed all original material, some of which you can hear below. We were pretty popular in the early nineties and had quite a following around the South London music scene. I remember we had a great time with it and remember it as Halcyon Days.

When You’re Young – Gilgannon/Hayes

We wrote this track long after Kanga’s House had split up. I recorded it on my pc. It was the first real attempt at recording something myself. I got to play all the instruments including mandolin! Definitely not a finished product more of a demo.

After the break up of Kanga’s House, Martin Noakes and myself wrote and recorded a couple of tracks just to see what we could do.

Kanga’s House line-up was:-

Dave Gilgannon (Griller) – Guitar / Vocals
Jo Hayes – Vocals
Tom Robinson- Drums
Dave Gorman – Bass

Martin Noakes produced all of the Kanga’s House tracks and later joined the band on keyboard and vocals.

I’ll try and give the correct credit for the songs. Please correct me if I haven’t.

There are some tracks where Tom had a significant hand in writing and I’ve credited where appropriate.

It was a long time ago so this is how I remember it.

We used to have quite a fan base back then and maybe one of you old Kanga’s House fans has some photos or recordings that you could let me have a copy of? I’d love to do a dedicated Kanga’s House website but that seems pointless without any photos.
